ESPN
Filming at ESPN was another awesome shooting opportunity I got while interning at Disney. John, my manager, Megan, my coworker, and I were tasked with filming with an ESPN employee. The ESPN location we shot at was the offices at LA LIVE, in Downtown Los Angeles.
The employee we shot with was named Leonard Williams, and he started as an ESPN intern and worked his way up to Associate Manager.
We interviewed him about his experience at ESPN and his journey moving up to a Manager. We also shot some photos with him around the office because the photos were going to help support the blog that was going to be posted on the Life at Disney website.

As an intern myself, it was inspiring to hear Leonard's story. Seeing someone start in the same position and grow into a leadership role made the possibility of a long-term career feel much more real.
We shot Leonard’s full interview on a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 because we had just gotten the camera in and wanted to test it out. At the time, we were trying to minimize how much equipment we would take for certain shoots. We knew this video was going to be for social, so that meant shooting vertical.
The Osmo Pocket shoots in 4k/120fps with great stabilization, so we thought it was perfect to use for the shoot.
Before we started filming Leonard, we tested the camera settings in the hallway, and I ended up becoming the stand-in subject. It was funny being on the other side of the camera for a change.
What made this shoot memorable wasn't just getting to film at ESPN; it was hearing Leonard's journey from intern to manager. As an intern myself, it was encouraging to see what can happen when you stay committed to your goals and continue learning along the way.
