Monster Energy | ASM 2019

What is ASM? ASM stands for America Sales Meeting, one of the biggest annual events hosted by Monster Energy.

Monster Energy holds a meeting every year called ASM. It’s usually held in Las Vegas at the Virgin Hotels. Monster takes over the whole hotel. There is branding everywhere! The meeting is about 3 days long. A large portion of the company is invited to attend.

The purpose of the meeting is to energize employees for the upcoming sales year and future company goals. So much information is shared at this meeting. From marketing partnerships, new flavors dropping, how much revenue is being brought in, goals that they want to hit, new athletes that have joined the family, etc.

I absolutely loved attending this event every year. 

As I mentioned in my last blog, I was a part of the StudioM team at Monster. Throughout my summer internship, I was helping prepare the video content for the meeting. Being trusted to help prepare content for such a major event showed me how much teamwork, communication, time management, and attention to detail go into large-scale productions.

This has to be the most stressful time of the year for the team. The team is shooting and editing multiple projects all the way up to the night before the meeting starts. It was truly amazing to see everything come together after months of work. 

2019 was the first year I attended ASM. StudioM gets there a couple of days before the regular attendees arrive to set up, test out videos, audio, etc. The actual first day of ASM is the evening mixer. It’s like a party; it sets the whole vibe for the meeting. I ran into athletes like Nyjah Huston, Natalie Eva Marie, and Axell Hodges during the evening mixer. 

The video below was of the area where the opening mixer was being held. They were still setting up when I took the video.

Then, for the next two days, everyone is gathered to hear all the presentations. I don’t have much content from this year, but I am going to add a video below to show you the room everyone is in. 

Fun fact: The video I am showing below was edited by me. So awesome to have seen it on such a big screen in front of so many people. 

The last day of ASM, there is an evening party. That year, it was held in the club that Virgin Hotels has. The special guest artist who performed was Lil Jon! SO FUN!

It was an unforgettable way to end my first ASM experience and a reminder of how rewarding hard work behind the scenes can be.
