Sales Interns Throw A Party
Imagine being an intern at Monster Energy and being tasked with planning a company-wide party in just six weeks.
Talking about the layout of event.
Yes, this definitely happened, and I am proud to say it was a success. This project was a team effort, and I’m so happy to share a little insight about how it all came together.
As I mentioned in a previous blog, my team fell under the sales umbrella within the company. There were about 6-8 sales interns who worked together when putting this event on.
The internship started on June 3rd, and the party was on August 9th. I believe we were told about it at the beginning of July. So we only had about 6 weeks to put it together.
We were unsure where to start, what to name it, whether we could do this or that, or what the budget was. I remember us having a brainstorming meeting, and the ideas were just flowing!
We made it a carnival-themed event and called it “Monster Clawnival”. Honestly, pretty genius if you ask me. I can't remember who came up with the name, but I remember all of us being super excited about it.
For games, we were told that Monster had a lot of branded games, like cornhole, a bucket ball toss, and Jenga. We made some other games, like a balloon dart game, a can toss game with monster cans.
We also got some Monster Girls to come out for the event to take photos with the employees at the photobooth.
We also made intern shirts for the event, and that was a fun process because we were able to design the shirts how we wanted them. I’ll attach a photo of the back here.

The front was just a monster energy logo with the M claw in the middle, and the back said “Intern” and the number 19 because the year was 2019.
One thing that we had to implement in the event was something that involved philanthropy because Monster is really big on giving back to the community. So the sales team gave us a couple of ideas on how to go about it. We decided to donate toys to a local shelter.
What we ended up doing was a raffle and raffled off Monster Energy-branded prizes. So if you attended the event, you got 1 raffle ticket; if you won a game, you got 2 tickets. Lastly, if you brought a toy to donate, then you got 3 tickets.

The event had an amazing turnout, and it was the best way to end our internship.
What game would you have included at the event?
